boo.

24.4.2010
I originally planned to leave the 'boo' as a standalone post so that the current one I'm writing now would be my 200th post but that would be cheating. Anyway finally it's Saturday. Loads of homework and test over the week and I really felt like giving up sometimes. 7 more months seem like a long way to go. But if I work hard enough, I'll be able to make it. At the same time, I also found out the reason why I got a B for PW. 2 MEs and an EE for my OP. How did I find out you ask? You see, there's a faint marking on each grade in the marking sheet (or the AI, I still don't know what it means exactly). My organisation of answers for my Q&A section was messy and my pronUnciation (the invigilator added the dreaded O in) wasn't precise. Should be due to the fact that I had to rush at the 4th minute onwards, when I still had many more slides to go. Ok enough with PW. I escaped from the clutches of bus 168.....yay....except when I'm not done with homework. I just prefer trains. You'll understand if you've grown up with me throughout my childhood.

Moving on, I think I care about my friends more than enough, because when you think about it, whether the other side actually cares is a whole different story. Sometimes you'll get ignored or as for my case, had a whole friendship thrown down the drain. Damn it, it's hard to explain in text about these kinds of things. I'll end here for the day.

Here I am, being up real late again. Why? Busy watching videos, chatting, FB, all that usual crap. Studied with Nat and before that we took the Circle Line to Bugis instead of using EWL since it just opened yesterday. I was quite surprised that the Singapore Art Museum is just a stone's throw away from Iluma! meh. lame right?

Tried to study at the National Library at first, too bad the study lounge was full. For such a huge library, why is the lounge so damn small? But, even if there was a space to study, I would've been distracted by the birthday party a group of girls were having at the garden next door. Speaking of birthdays, I really hope that IJC's grad night will happen on the current tentative date!

B. That's what I got for PW. Urrgghh all that hard work and I got that? I really wanted an A. Stupid bell curve+moderation. That's why 66% of the school got a B. Screw it, I have A Levels to prepare for now. Had STAR after the results and stole food from the buffet tables outside the school hall during the parent-teacher meeting:) Well I laughed a lot from the guilt of grabbing free food and also looking at the other students joining in as well!

School ends at 7.10pm tomorrow because of extra Geography lecture, and 5pm on Friday due to that dreaded STAR programme. The fact that teachers refer to us as 'starlets' irks me a bit. All I need to do now is focus more on my studies. I did study for block test but admittedly, I knew my efforts are way short of what's considered enough. meh. Oh, and that means I have to ditch my plans of returning to SHSS to view the passing-out parade for CD this Friday. Damn it!

Other than that, I've mentioned in FB that I've found out the title of the song that's been stuck in my head for 5 years. Yeah, it's that long. It's called Right Here by Staind by the way. It may sound like any other rock (idk) song, but for some reason it's one of those songs that'll be stuck in my playlist permanently. I'm listening to Brian McFadden's latest song, Just Say So, featuring Kevin Rudolf, and it's great! Speaking of permanent songs in my playlist, his Already Gone song featuring Delta Goodrem is another example. Simple and slow, but equally great!

Ok I should return to reading up on monetary policy now.

From an FB fan page:
HELL EXPLAINED BY CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term.

The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.'

Spent an hour in the school's gym, and after that, in the span of 4 hours, I've binged on fries, burgers, ice cream, sandwiches and now, leftover noodles. I'd better gain 2 kg by tomorrow! I'll rant tomorrow. The noodles are calling me....

Finally I attended ONE SHSS concert in 6 years! I think it's ironic that I was only able to attend Impressions when I've left the school. Saw loads of familiar faces. Admittedly some parts were boring and I had to force myself to stay awake given the $20 ticket. The ending was WOW. This normal alumni guy stunned...
(interrupted by Vijay's call)
...the whole audience when suddenly Josh Groban's voice came out from his mouth! Well anyway, the concert was at Victoria Concert Hall, so the walk there was interesting, given that I've never set foot upon the immediate vicinity surrounding the venue. Damn I should go out more. Giselle, if you're reading this, SEE! My life is as mundane as yours.

Now as usual, I'm lazy to complete my homework. This week will be worse! NAPFA, and the release of the results for the other Block Test papers and PW as well! retarded sia.
